35 down, 55 to go

I’m a little over a third of the way through, and feel like I’m cruising. I notice I can push myself further and my core and lower back does feel quite a bit stronger! And best of all, I can definitely feel and see a difference because of the workouts, and the scale and measurements confirm it. I’ve officially lost a pound from the scale, not just one of the original pounds I put on the first week but a real whole pound on it’s own. My mother, the accountant, would say I’ve netted a -1! I’ve also lost another inch in my waist, but legs have stayed the same since last week (grrrr). Wouldn’t it be great if you could choose where the inch comes off from?

The broken finger has had an impact on some of the workouts. While it didn’t get me out of nearly as much of the yoga as I’d hoped (it’s still long and boring, I guess I’m just a cardio girl!), it did stop most of the upper body workouts. I couldn’t do any of the back, shoulders, and the vast majority of the arm workouts. I could do tricep dips because the weight is on my palm and not the upper part of my hand, but that was it. And I only have a week or two left of fall sports before the long holiday hiatus, so I don’t want to risk re-injury just yet. No need to really push it!

On the whole though my finger is feeling much better. It’s still a little discolored and the nail looks funky, but the swelling is minimal. I bet I’m the only person that even notices it because I know where to look. Thankfully, it doesn’t hurt anymore either! Unless I hit it on just the right spot, it feels completely fine. I can bend it nearly all the way, but it’s still a little stiff. I don’t want to force it at this point, so we’ll see.

I’m still eating a pretty good balance of food, I’m not doing anything crazy or being over the top restrictive. I eat when I’m hungry and try not to eat bread and Cheez-Its all day, that’s about as complicated as it is! I made a delicious Tortilla Soup last week and had leftovers for days.

Like I said, I’m pretty much cruising, bring it on week 6!
