Why hello, intertron! It’s been a few weeks, but I’m back. My break from work and the routine rut I’d gotten myself in was much needed, so the next few posts will be about what’s been going on in the life-of-Liz. Enticed yet? Nope. Awesome. Well you will be here soon!
My Christmas break started off with a bang at my potluck dinner. Since this was our first time to do it, there were a few hiccups (read: we had meat and bread for dinner, which was delicious! But by the end were all looking for a veggie or two to cut the taste of all the salty foods.) Here is what our menu looked like:
Appetizer: Fritos & a cream cheese/salsa dip, edamame & soy sauce (courtesy of Jenna and Thomas).
Dessert: Mama Pea’s Dough Balls (I made these also, mmm!), apple pie (courtesy of Thomas), chocolate cake (courtesy of Kristin)
As you can see, there was a LOT of food! And even between 10 people, we barely made a dent in it. I was left with more leftover turkey, ham, and desserts than I knew what to do with. Complete with friends, extended friends, wine, and beer we had a fabulous time! We laughed, we teased, we joked, and Kristin punched all of us. (She really did, that wasn’t a joke! But that’s how she shows that she loves us ) It looks like this little potluck dinner of ours will become a yearly tradition, along with a side of veggies and a group picture of us all!!
