Welcome to the newly re-designed circletwentytwo blog! For the first time ever, I’ve completely customized the entire blog… the pictures, fonts, colors, layout, etc. I can’t even find a picture of the original blog design, but since then this is it’s fourth rendition. I’ve been searching for something pre-fabricated that would work, but nothing ever fit just right so I relied on free themes that I liked. (I have a website development background, but I can only code in straight HTML and some in Java. Most websites like this one rely on PHP and I haven’t had the time to sit and learn a new programming language.) After hearing great results on what Thesis and DIYThemes can do, I bit the bullet and spent my first non-hosting related dollars on the blog. Several of the blogs I follow use this as their framework and no two of their blogs look completely the same (a big selling point for me!) A few hours, a few minor online-PHP tutorials, and a great time spent designing and laying it out and VOILA! Welcome back to circletwentytwo!! I know there are more nodules and add-ons out there that can enhance the site, but for now I am quite pleased with both myself and how it turned out. As I add functionality, of course I’ll post up about it.
Look how far we’ve come from the past to today:
I have the developer’s SDK for the package, so a re-design and overhaul of the Tuesday Dinner Club site is next on the agenda. But for today, I will sit back and enjoy this one.
What do you think of the new design? Anything you particularly like or dislike? Is there any functionality you would like to see incorporated into it?
