Today’s job search took place on LinkedIn. I found a couple positions that looked interesting (and most importantly, that I’m qualified for) and am hoping I hear responses soon. I did hear back from the Austin Food Bank about their Online Development Coordinator position, so that is promising. The biggest obstacle I’m running into is a lack of work experience. Really, I’m 24 years old, almost 25, so unfortunately I don’t have 10+ years of experience in any industry. But I’m a quick learner and hard worker…. hire me!! In the mean time, I’m working part time and freelancing website design to pay the bills. I’ve sent out emails to old professors and contacts, made some follow up calls with family friends, and then called to get a major medical insurance policy (since I lose coverage on my birthday). That’s where I’m at. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing. Wow this is the side of being an adult that’s no fun at all!! Can I go back to being 10 and all I had to worry about was how many basketball games I’d get to play in that weekend?!? Those were for sure the days!
ps- If you got my It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia reference, we need to be friends!!
